Cryogenic Test Engineer (BSEE/BS Physics level)
HYPRES seeks a test engineer to perform experimental verification and validation of superconducting digital circuits.
• Cryogenic testing and analysis of superconducting electronics integrated circuits
• Develop procedures, methods and tools for test and verification
• Bachelor’s in STEM field with 2-5 years of experience
• Support hardware testing and debugging
• Matlab experience
• Conduct test experiments, record test results and formulate test reports
• Experience conducting chip level testing
• Knowledge in analog and digital technology
• Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, wave form generators etc.)

Integrated Circuit Designer (MSEE-level)
This position performs design and layout of superconductor digital circuits. Proficiency with computer-aided design tools for circuit simulation and IC layout, such as CADENCE, is required. Familiarity with Rapid Single Flux Quantum logic is desired, but not mandatory.
Integrated Circuit Designer (Ph.D. or MSEE, 4 years experience+)
The position performs design and layout of superconductor digital and mixed signal circuits. Proficiency with computer-aided design tools, such as CADENCE, is required. Experience with either analog RF circuit design or high-speed digital circuit design is necessary. Familiarity with Rapid Single Flux Quantum logic is desired, but not mandatory. Laboratory experience in evaluation of high-speed circuits is considered a plus.
Integrated Circuit Designer (Ph.D.-level)
HYPRES seeks Ph.D.-level, experienced circuit designers with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Rapid Single Flux Quantum (RSFQ) digital circuits, SQUIDs, analog-to-digital converters, superconductor RF analog circuits. In addition to design and layout of superconductor digital and mixed signal circuits, these positions will be expected to participate in development of new research areas.
Digital Signal Processing, FPGA Engineer
This position works closely with superconductor IC design and test engineers in the laboratory to design and implement digital signal processing functions, with emphasis on FPGA programming. An MSEE is required.

Typically these are students who have earned a BS and are enrolled in an MS or Ph.D. program with a focus on technology/electronics.
Interns work side-by-side HYPRES’ scientists and engineers. Company officials work closely with the educational institute to ensure the student‘s goals are reached, skills are developed and experiences are maximized during the internship. Of note, if a research area of mutual interest is found, HYPRES will consider establishing a longer-term arrangement with the student’s university to allow the student to use the company’s facilities to conduct research toward his/her degree.
